Avoiding Second Mortgage in Chapter 13

Serving Families Throughout Mobile
|
You can avoid (remove) a second mortgage or home equity line in most cases when you file a bankruptcy case under Chapter 13. Once the Plan is paid off and you receive a Discharge Order, the mortgage lien is 100% extinguished and removed, as if it never happened. Call for more information (reference: 11 U.S. Code, Section 506) (does not apply in all ch 13 cases)
